Full Day Training Class: All Things Mechanical

All things Mechanical

Based on the 2021 codes including the mechanical and fuel gas codes. This is a holistic approach covering the basics of why we have the mechanical codes and systems and how they work to provide comfort and the safety factors that we need to focus on. From the importance of sizing the fuel gas supply and exhaust to also the delivery system we know as ducting. We will look at a traditional furnace/air handler for purposes of this discussion. This class will include a hands on experience with a sample air handler and ducting and the effects of static pressure and air volumes. Come prepared to participate.

The pool installation business is one of the most litigated and least understood industries in Utah. Cracks, leaks, systems that don't circulate or filter the water properly, dangerous electrical, mechanical and venting installations are major concerns leading to consumer complaints that ultimately end up at the Building Departments. Proper installations can save homeowners thousands of dollars over the life of the pool. What makes for a proper installation? Knowledgeable inspectors and contractors working together to ensure all the components of the pool are correctly installed and inspected. This course will help you understand the requirements of swimming pools, spas, splash pads, including concrete, fiberglass, and vinyl liner installations. You will leave with a better understanding of the pool codes and standards and feel more confident with this knowledge to help at your next pool inspection, plan review, and contractor meeting.
